# Search

> Find any lead or call by name, number, email, postcode or reference.

The **Search** field sits at the top of the sidebar (on a phone it's in the top bar). Press <kbd>⌘K</kbd> or <kbd>/</kbd> to jump to it from anywhere.

## How search works

* A search covers **all time** and all of your organisation's leads and transferred calls, whatever page you were on and whatever filters you had set.
* Results replace the page as you type, under the heading **Search results**. The page underneath stays as you left it.
* Open a result to see its page. A **Search results** link takes you back to your results.

## Narrowing results

Search results have their own period, filters and download, just like any other page:

* Change the period to search a narrower window.
* Use **Filter** (<kbd>⇧F</kbd>) to add chips. If you receive both leads and calls, the first filter is **Type**: Leads or Calls.
* **Download** saves exactly the results you're looking at.

## Leaving search

Press <kbd>Esc</kbd>, clear the field, or press your browser's Back button. You return to the page you were on, scrolled to where you were.
