Logging a call tells Desk what happened. It updates the lead’s status, books any callback and keeps your numbers honest. The next person to call the lead reads what you wrote.

Opening the log sheet

  • After a call from Desk, choose How did it go? in the call bar, or press L.
  • For a call you made another way, choose Log call on the lead’s row or page, or press L.

Choosing what happened

Didn’t get through

  • No answer
  • Voicemail
  • Engaged
  • Line dead

Spoke to them

  • Call back later: asks When to call back. The lead appears under Callbacks on that day.
  • Survey booked: asks Survey date, if you have it. This counts as an appointment.
  • Passed to sales: this counts as qualified.
  • Not interested
  • Already has solar
  • Property not suitable
  • Rents, or council property
  • Thought it was free or a grant
  • Not them, or never enquired
  • Asked not to be called again: the lead won’t be offered again.
Add anything useful in Note, optional. Then choose:
  • Log call (↵) to save.
  • Log and next (⇧↵) to save and move straight on to the next lead.

Undo

Logged the wrong thing? The top of the sheet shows Last logged with an Undo link. You can also undo your last logged call from the lead’s timeline.

From the call

On accounts where it’s switched on, Desk reads a call from Desk as soon as you hang up, which takes a few seconds. While it works, the sheet says “Reading the call…”. When it’s done, a From the call box appears with:
  • a suggested outcome, marked with a dashed ring and “Suggested from the call: ’…’”
  • a draft note, with Use this note or Add to my note
Suggestions are never saved for you. You choose the outcome and you press Log. Until you do, the lead’s status shows the suggestion as “Suggested · …”.
